Our school became part of Nicholas Postgate Academy Trust on Wednesday 1st October 2014, along with St Joseph’s, Loftus and St Paulinus, Guisbrough. This followed a period of consultation culminating in the signing of the Funding Agreement by the Secretary of State for Education.
Nicholas Postgate Academy Trust is pleased to welcome two more Academies, Sacred Heart Secondary and St Benedict’s Primary, to the Trust family of schools as from 1st September 2015. A formal celebration mass will be held in the near future. The Academies will now finalise and coordinate their forward plans of how they will develop and improve the school experience for all children
We look forward to working together to ensure that we continue with our reputation for high standards and innovation in Catholic Education.
St Bede's is part of the parishes of St Bede's, Marske and Our Lady of Lourdes, Saltburn. It was built 40 years ago.
Our last school inspection by OFSTED judged us as outstanding in every area. Please read the full report on the OFSTED website. Our Religious Education inspection that took place in December 2013 also judged us as outstanding in every area.
We hold several national charter marks including; Healthy Schools, The Green Flag Eco Award, The Science Quality Mark, Geography Quality Mark in Silver, Leading Parent Partnership Accreditation, Artsmark Gold, Diana Award for our Anti-Bullying work, Active Mark, RE Quality Mark and we are now a Fairtrade school.
We are incredibly proud to announce that we gained Teaching School Status and are in a Teaching School Alliance which has incredible strengths. Co-operative learning is so powerful and benefits each and every child in our school community.
Our SATS results have been consistently high and our wonderful staff work incredibly hard to provide the children in their care with the best possible academic education. However, we work equally hard to bring out all those hidden God-given gifts and talents in each and every child, to teach them good values by which to live by, to prepare them for the fast changing world in which they live and more importantly still- for each child to know they have been made and loved by God.
Here at St Bede's, when we welcome the child to the school, we also welcome the family.
